Our Level 3 YMCA Awards Diploma in Teaching Mat Pilates is designed for individuals who have busy lives and would like a rewarding career in teaching Mat Pilates. Blended learning allows you to study at home with tutor support and at your own pace. Whether you are a parent or have a busy career, this course would be ideal for you. YMCA Awards are the UK’s leading awarding organisation in the health, fitness and well being sector. They develop and award industry-leading qualifications helping people across the world to develop new careers in the health and fitness industry and beyond. All our courses are extremely comprehensive in nature and are structured on informative face-to-face teaching. Throughout your study, you will receive excellent tutor support both in the classroom and during your home study period. This course is suitable for those who do not have a fitness related qualification or are already teaching in the fitness industry who are looking to make an investment in their career to teach Pilates. Individuals who already hold an existing Level 2 or 3 qualification will be exempt from certain units.
On completion, this qualification will allow entry to REPs at Level 3.

This qualification is aimed at individuals who want to teach Pilates.
What prior qualifications/levels of attainment are needed to take this qualification? Are there any age restrictions?
No formal prerequisites. YCMA Awards recommends learners have a basic understanding of Level 2 Anatomy and Physiology Learners need to be 16 or above to complete this qualification.
What does this qualification cover?
The YMCA Awards Level 3 Diploma in Teaching Pilates is regulated by Ofqual and comprises of a total of 37 credits. 37 credits are achieved through completion of the following mandatory units:
- Anatomy and physiology for Exercise and Health
- Health, safety and welfare in a fitness environment
- Principles of exercise, fitness and health
- Know how to support clients who take part in exercise and physical activity
- Delivering a Pilates Teaching Session
- Programming a Pilates Teaching Session
